We need to gather information about exactly what you want - starting with all the same information we'd need if you were purchasing one of our catalog racks. Since customs are based on our catalog racks you can use those as a reference for the style and type of add-on options available, including prices. To get a price quote for a custom with your logo, please complete the request form with as much information and detail possible. From that we can work up an estimated price for you.
Custom Logo Racks
Protect • Advertise • Utilize
With a Custom Headache Rack from Spyder Industries you kill three proverbial birds with one stone...
Protect: Have a pickup truck you use for work? How about a whole fleet of trucks? Either way, you most likely want to protect your investment and maintain the value of your vehicle(s). All it takes is one accidental load shift and you've got a broken back window or damaged cab. But that's not all. Without a headache rack there's little to prevent some part of that load from crashing through and seriously injuring you or a passenger. A headache rack by Spyder Industries is a good line of defense on either front.
Advertise: Why not get a return on your investment with advertising built right into your headache rack? Sure, vinyl graphics have their place and are a big step-up from magnetic signs slapped on the side of your truck. Full body wraps are nice too but may be overkill. They're also expensive (upwards of $5,000 or more) and may only last a few years. A 100% custom built headache rack from Spyder Industries presents your company name, logo, phone number or other artwork in a truly unique way that will set you apart from competitors.
Utilize: While a regular or custom made headache rack can be used for safety and protection, as well as an advertising tool, they can be utilized for other purposes too. For example, by adding optional lumber stops to the top you can carry and secure long loads that extend over your cab - without damage. Add grab handles for easier bed side access or as additional tie-down points. Add a variety of lighting options that allow you to work (or play) long after the sun goes down. The possibilities are almost endless. And if you have a special request there's a very good chance we can accommodate it.

We need to see your existing logo so we can determine how it will translate to cut metal and powder coat colors. There is a space provided on the request form to attach files. Most graphic file formats are acceptable. If the quality or resolution is too low we will need something better at the formal design stage.
For legal reasons, we cannot do trademarked logos (brands, sports teams).
Sorry, we're not in the graphic design business. If you want us to create artwork or a logo from scratch, that will take time charged at an hourly rate.
Yes. While our quotes are free, there is a charge for the formal design process. Once you receive a quote and decide to proceed, a $300 non-refundable deposit is required to start the formal design process. The deposit is applied toward your balance. During that process our CNC designer will take your logo and determine the best way to render it in cut metal, then program that into a computer. Proofs of your custom rack with all accessories are also generated and sent to you for review and approval.
Most graphic file formats are okay as long as it is high quality, high resolution. A low quality .jpg file won't cut it. Ideally, when the time comes to do your formal design, you can provide us with an .AI or .EPS or in some cases .PDF file to work with. These are known as vector formats and allow us to scale your artwork to any size needed without loss of quality or extra, time consuming work. Your graphic designer or printer may be able to help provide us with a file.
Logos are created entirely from layers of cut steel (no vinyl stickers used). Each layer is powder coated a different color and the layers creatively stacked and riveted to the headache rack to create the effect.
Powder coat is not a paint so there are no paint codes. Instead, the powder coat industry uses a system of RAL numbers. You may choose any of the colors we stock by Cardinal or special order (at a higher cost) colors from Prismatic Powders. While we can offer suggestions on powder coat colors that may closely match the colors in your logo or artwork, you are ultimately responsible for the final choice and approval.
We cannot do color gradients in powder coat.
The answer boils down to extra time, labor, materials, and technology. A CNC designer takes your logo and determines the best way to render it in cut metal, then programs that into a computer. Proofs of your custom rack with all accessories are generated for your approval. Material is setup and CNC cut. Fabricators clean up and prepare each layer, pre-fit, and drill everything for assembly later. After sandblasting, in addition to the headache rack, all layers are individually primed and powder coated. Rivets are powder coated to match. During final assembly an artisan re-fits and rivets all of the layers together. In our experience, multi-layer custom logos or artwork typically adds $350-$750 to the overall cost of a headache rack with $600, the average.
